Did the Quantum Apocalypse really arrive on January 4th?

Chinese researchers are reporting they can break RSA encryption with a contemporary Quantum Computer. Can they?

Greetings. A quick post in response to current discussions. As many of you will be aware some Chinese reseachers have publish a paper that basically said they know how that can decrypt RSA encryption (which sits at the heart of a lot of our security) using a quantum computer with less than 400 qubits. Given there are several machines already bigger than this it is potentially a big deal.
