Quantum, quantum everywhere
An opportunity & a request
Greetings and welcome to another issue of our ad-hoc newsletter.
This time we’ve more info on the fantastic (and free!) “Quantum in the City” event in October as well as a request for 90 seconds of your time to ensure a key topic makes it onto the presentation agenda for the ever-awesome SXSW conference.
We’ve more details on The Quantum City Summit below - it’s free (in person or online) and takes place in somewhere far, far, far more exciting that your usual QC conference. Namely the Egyptian Hall of London’s Mansion House, where the Lord Mayor of London lives and hosts dignitaries from across the globe. The event is on Monday October the 2nd and will include excellent speakers and panels as well as the chance to meet like-minded quantum enthusiasts.
The SXSW (South by Southwest) Conference is about as different as The City Quantum Summit as an event could be, but we hope one thing will link them. Namely a discussion on the risks of quantum-enabled cyber attacks. While we prefer to focus on the positive sides of quantum this is a threat that can not be ignored and Sandbox AQ’s Fernando Dominguez Pinuaga explains this topic in an excellent way.
Please do invest 90 seconds in following this link and voting for his presentation. We know it takes a few moments to go through the sign-in step so as a thank you if it would be helpful Nathan and Paolo will share a recent document we’ve produce to help people publicising their online events: The 'Platforms For Delivering Audiences To Webinars' Cheat Sheet. Simply take a screen grab of your vote on this page and email us at quantum@artplusfunction.co.uk
To keep abreast of the broad range of exciting topics SandboxAQ is working on at the intersection of Quantum Technology and AI we’ve found the best step is to follow CEO, Jack Hidary, on LinkedIn, here.
Thank you for you support on this.
Before we talk about one of London’s oldest landmarks, a quick mention of a more modern one. Our co-founder, Paolo Cuomo, is doing a charity fund-raise by running up the 1,204 steps of the Cheesegrater building in the City of London and then taking a zipwire over to the Gherkin building. If you fancy donation to the amazing “Tommy’s Charity” in recognition of Paolo crazy feat please do so via this link (the site accepts donations from worldwide).
More about “The City Quantum Summit”
The Lord Mayor of London has kicked off the event in previous years, shown here with organiser, Karina Robinson.
The City Quantum Summit brings together world-changing technology and the City to leverage the UK’s position as the home of the second-largest number of quantum start-ups in the world.
Hosted at Mansion House, the home of the Lord Mayor of the city of London, and in collaboration with Redcliffe Advisory, Last year’s Summit took place on October 11, 2022, both in-person at Mansion House and on a live stream. The Summit turbocharged a conversation on deriving value today.
